Elevated Interior Design for Modern Living
Athens, Georgia + Charleston, South Carolina
Metal + Petal is a full-service interior design studio with locations in Athens, Georgia, and Charleston, South Carolina. Founded by Jade and Graham Joyner, the firm brings a European-influenced, editorial sensibility to residential, commercial, hospitality, and Greek life chapter housing projects across the Southeast. Jade's design career spans more than 25 years, beginning in Budapest and Washington, D.C., before she and Graham built Metal + Petal into a full-service studio with its own warehouse, procurement, and installation team. Jade's first book, with Gibbs Smith, is forthcoming. We believe good design lives in the details. Spaces should feel unmistakably like you, not a trend you'll outgrow. We bring an eclectic, confident mix to every project we take on: modern paired with traditional, heavy balanced with light, a room that feels collected rather than decorated.

Services
New Builds & Renovations: From the beginning. We partner with your architect and builder from day one, guiding every decision from architectural details and lighting plans to finishes, millwork, and custom furnishings. The result is a home that feels effortless from the moment you move in.
Retreats & Second Homes: Spaces that exhale. Whether Kiawah, Lake Oconee, Charleston, or beyond, we design retreat homes that are calm, warm, and quietly luxurious. Tailored to how your family arrives, gathers, and rests.
Commercial & Boutique Projects: From boutique hotels and hospitality spaces to sororities, spas, and offices, we design modern, brand-focused interiors that elevate the client experience and reflect who you are. Designed with intention. Built to last.
Furnishings, Styling & Refresh: A new chapter, not a full renovation. We reimagine your existing spaces with the right furniture, textiles, art, lighting, and styling, bringing clarity, warmth, and balance to a home that's ready for what's next.
Our Studios
Two cities. One vision. The whole Southeast.
Our Athens studio is where it all began. A full studio and warehouse space in the heart of the Classic City, designed for collaboration.
Our Charleston studio sits on Johns Island, a quieter corner of the Lowcountry where ideas take shape away from the noise.
From Atlanta to Charlotte, Kiawah to Lake Oconee, we design across the Southeast for clients who care deeply about where they live, work, and gather.
LET’S CHAT ABOUT YOUR PROJECT
“From the start, your creative vision and attention to detail made this project an absolute pleasure. You truly brought out the charm of the Low Country, seamlessly blending classic coastal elements with modern comfort. Each space feels both inviting and thoughtfully curated, and I’m constantly impressed by how you managed to reflect my personality in every detail—from the color palette to the unique furnishings.
More than anything, I appreciate your collaborative approach. You listened closely to my ideas and brought them to life. My family and guests have all commented on how warm and welcoming the home feels now, and I credit that entirely to your talent and dedication. The collaboration also extended to the architect and builder.
The house turned out great and was completed on time. Thank you again for your exceptional work. I couldn’t be happier with the results, and I’m grateful for the energy and passion you brought to every stage of the process.”
